Reliv International’s Jolly Gomez Named Commissioner on the Philippine Sports Commission

CHESTERFIELD, Mo., Aug. 23, 2010 – Philippines President Benigno Aquino recently appointed Jolly Gomez, Reliv International’s managing director of the Philippines, to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), one of that nation’s most important sports organizations.

“Jolly’s appointment to the Philippines Sports Commission signifies the respect he has gained for his leadership role at Little League Philippines,” said Ryan Montgomery, executive vice president of worldwide sales for Reliv International.

“Being a PSC commissioner adds to Jolly’s extensive involvement in the Philippines community,” Montgomery added. “As the Philippine area coordinator for the Reliv Kalogris Foundation, he has established feeding programs run by 14 different organizations that provide free nutritional supplements to malnourished Filipinos. In addition, Jolly is vice chairman of the Direct Selling Association of the Philippines,” he said. The association supports the professionalism and business ethics of direct sellers.

Gomez, whose given name is Jose Luis Reyes Gomez, is prominent in Philippines sports circles for his role as an administrator for Little League Philippines, which sponsors youth baseball and softball games.

Gomez is one of three new PSC commissioners appointed by President Aquino. The other new PSC commissioners are Salvador “Buddy” Andrada, former head of the Philippine tennis association, and Baseball Philippines head Joaquin "Chito" Loyzaga. Ritchie Garcia, a former PSC commissioner, was named chairman of the commission.
